Full text
My butterflies fused their wings into a balloon
That bloats with never ending strain
I see you, you who started my first cocoon
And I am further filled with pain.
When I feel that pressure inside me grow—
My ribs popping at the seams—
I speak to all the dim stars for they know
To live without being seen;
And it’s in the valley in which I walk
That I hide myself away,
And it’s to the sad stars to which I talk—
Soon, I’ll be carried away
And now I glide so gently, I’m floating just above the floor
I start to cry and wonder if I could’ve done something more.
